Corpus Christi Schools

Eighteen separate independent school districts serve the Corpus Christi metropolitan statistical area. The majority of students attend schools in the Corpus Christi Independent School District. The district has five high schools, 11 middle schools, 38 elementary schools and two alternative education centers.

Public School

High Schools

Corpus Christi public schools are contained within one single district - CCISD, or Corpus Christi Independent School District. At the high school level, there are five different high schools throughout the city:

WB Ray High School

Middle Schools

There are several middle schools feeding into each of the above five high schools, depending on location. Wynn Seale boasts education and training in fine arts. Baker Middle School is known for hosting Corpus Christi's Athena program for students that are gifted and talented.

Elementary Schools

The elementary schools are many and are scattered throughout the city of Corpus Christi, spanning nearly all subdivisions and neighborhoods.

Special Campus Schools

Mary Grett High School and the Student Learning and Guidance Center are two special campus schools within Corpus Christi. Mary Grett School provides services for students with moderate to profound disabilities in a Basic Skills Training Program, General Transition Program, and the Community Training Program. The Student Learning and Guidance Center is a structured, discipline alternative educational program (DAEP) campus for students who have been removed from the regular campus setting. Students continue their academic program while being provided with intensive counseling in an effort to modify behavior and prepare for the student's successful return to the regular campus environment.

Private School

St. Patrick's Elementary is K-6 located on Alameda across from Driscoll Children's Hospital. Incarnate Word Academy has both an elementary/middle school as well as a high school. Corpus Christi Academy, located across from Cabaniss field on Saratoga, is a semi-private charter high school that is in its third year of education.
